The Mobile Personal Climatification Unit (M.P.C.U) is a functional, 300-lb, self-sustaining performer-activated retrofitted Radio Flyer Wagon. Equipped with AC and generator, this piece provides cool air to the performer through suit inflation, while sharing cooled air with passersby without regard for necessity. The piece employs irony and absurdity to demonstrate social dysfunction. An inherently impractical, bulky and awkward machine, the M.P.C.U.’s operator must make innumerable compromises to ensure that all of his daily activities remain climate-controlled.
